Sketches
Ethan McKinnon:
A college film student who stood his ground and filmed a superhero battle inside
the Capitol Rotunda in Washington,
Ethan is The Network’s newest junior cameraman. He’s got guts and confidence
but not a whole lot of sense, and he’s got no idea of the consequences of even
a simple mistake—like failing to turn off a cell phone when filming.
Cassidy Page:
Cassidy is an up-and-coming on-air reporter at The Network; she’s already a
glitzy B-list celebrity, and she’s been pegged as the nation’s next great
anchorwoman. That is, until she gets a little too overzealous in her pursuit of
Firefly’s secret identity…
Clay Riley:
Clay is quite simply the nation’s finest investigative reporter working the
superhero beat. He’s broken dozens of stories,
from cover-ups of alien invasions to traitors in the ranks of heroes. But along
the way, he’s made some extremely powerful enemies—and given half a chance,
they’re looking to make that the next time he appears on TV, it’s with birth
and death dates under his picture.
Javier Rincon:
Javy Rincon is the founder of The Network, one of the world’s wealthiest men,
and a former member of the interstellar search-and-rescue team that loosely
translates as “Starlight.” Running The Network poses its own set of
challenges, but until Ethan showed up, they weren’t ever life-threatening.
Armada & Firefly:
These two heroes, both members of the elite heroic Honor Guard, couldn’t be
more different. Armada is a ruthless weaponeer, a teleporter who’s always got
with just the right tools right at hand. But when cameraman Ethan McKinnon tapes
Armada using disturbingly excessive force on a criminal, he learns just how
vicious an enemy this hero can be. Firefly, on the other hand, is an athletic
jokester and a dashing charmer, one of the world’s most famous mystery men and
a constant obsession of The Network’s cameras.
The Network:
The Network is a worldwide multimedia presence devoted solely to the lives,
loves, triumphs, and tragedies of super-powered heroes and villains. Based in
Atlanta, Georgia, The Network has its logo on everything from websites to
kids’ toys, t-shirts to candy bars. It’s the most reliable source for
superhuman news—if The Network says it, it has to be true. Like it or not.
